Fort Lauderdale Travel Guide

This post is long overdue! Last month I took a trip down to Fort Lauderdale for 1. Anna's bachelorette party! & 2. Because I cannot deal with how cold it was in Nashville! We decided on Fort Lauderdale for the warmth, the beach and the vibes (more laid back than Miami but a little more lively than Palm Beach). Here is a little recap of the trip---

Where to stay in Fort Lauderdale:

Anna and I started the party early and got there before the rest of the girls. We stayed at The Kimpton Goodland-- a chic boutique hotel just steps from Fort Lauderdale beach. I loved everything about this hotel but here are a few of my favorite features:

A killer rooftop: The rooftop has a pool with cabanas, a bar with delicious cocktails and a GORGEOUS VIEW. Seriously-- what more could you ask for? If you go definitely pop by the rooftop. We loved lounging up there with our laptops getting some work done.

Yoga mats in the room: A small detail that I loved was that each room came with a fresh yoga mat and beach bag for use during your stay. The Goodland offers daily yoga classes or you can take the mat to the rooftop for sunrise yoga or to the beach for some afternoon zen.

Fresh cocktails: Anna and I partook in happy hour as per usual and we absolutely loved the craft cocktails and libations at Good Bar. This mint & cucumber cocktail was our favorite, it was so refreshing while we were poolside. (Fun fact: the Goodland has 2 pools! one on the main level and one on the 8th floor rooftop!)

Where to eat in Fort Lauderdale:

The Botanic: Located at The Goodland hotel--Let's be real... some hotel restaurants leave much to be desired. I'm happy to report that the Botanic blew me away with their food. We had dinner here and loved every dish we ordered. Anna and I did the classic "make our own tapas" and ordered a little bit of everything.

Must order--- The pappardelle pasta

Lona: This modern Mexican spot is perfect for a chill lunch or afternoon happy hour. It is located right across from the beach and has AMAZING margs. We went twice during our trip!

Must order--- The fresh guac with crab meat

Louie Bossi: I am still dreaming of the amazing dinner we had here. Louie Bossi is great for big groups-- they have a robust wine selection and a menu with something for everyone. You can't go wrong with their pizzas or their fresh pasta.

Must order--- the mushroom pasta

O Lounge: We started our nights out at this cute lounge in the heart of downtown. They have lite bites and their cocktails are incredible. They had DJs each night that we were there that set the vibe for the night.

Must order--- The Bella Belle (if you are a tequila gal!)

What to do in Fort Lauderdale:

The highlight of our trip was taking a cruise around the waterways with Sea the City! They have hot tub boats that cruise down the river with epic views of downtown and all the beautiful mansions. Each boat has 2 hot tubs that fit up to 10 people each so they're great for bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, birthday parties etc. Each tub has its own coolers (it's BYOB for wine & beer just no hard liquor) and sound system so you can jam to music of your choice. The staff is TOP NOTCH and kept our drinks filled and took tons of photos for us. The tours last about two hours and was so chill and relaxing. They also have boats in NYC and Chicago too!

All in all it was a great girl's getaway to celebrate Anna and a nice break from the Nashville winter. Be sure to let me know if you use any of my recs!
